Happy Halloweenie
Happy Halloween, doods. Boy you should see me today! I'm a punk rawker - and hoping to win $100 up here at work today. It was a total last minute decision to dress up. I wasn't going to & didn't want to. But as I was exiting the highway, going home from work last night I passed a Party City. I decided to stop in, no matter how insanely crowded I knew it'd be. I remembered at home that I had a pair of hot pink, black & white plaid pants with zippers on the knees & heels. Rawkin!! I also had a really cool glittery shirt with a Harley on the front. Even more rawkin! So - I looked for some Punk Rawker accessories. I found this LONG, hot pink wig for $11.99 - and a studded choker. Too cool! So I got those & headed home to see what I could throw together. (Zoey's Dada picked her up, seeing as it was 'his' night last night) I also remembered I had black Chuck Taylors (converse) shoes! Yes!!!! My rawkin' costume was all coming together!!! I got to work this morning (having attempting to evade those wacked out looks from passer-by's in the car) and everyone just thought it was a riot! A few people from other departments didn't even know it was me!!! So, first prize is $100 gift certificate for the Galleria Mall, 2nd prize is $50 and 3rd is $25. I have to *at least* get something! No one else on my floor is dressed up, and there are only a few people downstairs that don't even remotely compare with my creativity. Some of them came as 'babies', or clowns, or monsters. That's old. But me???? Hell, I'm a punked out, hard core, crack head punk rocker!!! Hell yeah! Rawk On!! Heh. Thankfully - the carnival tonight IS indeed in the gymnasium indoors. Whew. It's butt-ass cold out!!! I'm just waiting for it to snow. Puh. What's next. I mean, 50 degrees outside in Texas in OCTOBER? Huh? Zoey's going to look SO cute in her little butterfly princess stuff. This weekend is "daddy's weekend" (i hate saying that BTW) - and I will be attending the Flickerstick concert Friday night! Woo Hoo. Flickerstick is a local Dallas band, who made it big last year by winning VH1's Battle of the Bands. I haven't been to a concert in YEARS, people! This is going to be so much fun! (i think) OH! And my firemen friend who is in EMT school/training does 'rotations' every Tuesday with either a fire station or EMT's. This past Tuesday night was with the Bedford EMT's. And guess what?? He assisted in delivering a baby!! I was so happy for him. He was totally grossed out. I find that amusing since he was a fireman in Spain for 5 years, and saw much more gruesome & grotesque things than a birth! Geez. AND on top of that - he does NOT hold babies. Ever. Well, he HAD to Tuesday and I just got all weepy-eyed thinking of it! I just wanted to give him a BIG hug for helping the girl birth her daughter. It's so magical! (well, to me it is - to a dood, probably not) We're having a party up here at work today starting at 3pm - complete with food, games & a DJ. Too kewl, huh? (ha ha ha ha, I'm using grammar that matches my costume, okay?) ;-) Peace out & Be careful!
