I am the Computer fucker upper
Yeah - so yesterday, I ROYALLY F*ED up my computer at work. Yep. I had downloaded this Microsoft 'Email Templates' program for my Microsoft Outlook email. Well, once I downloaded it, I realized that maybe it really wasn't something I wanted to have on my work email, so I uninstalled it. Well, it would NOT uninstall! I still got pop-ups asking me if I wanted to use a new template, etc. So I email the tech support for that program. They replied & showed me how to look in my computers register at the software I was using, and to delete it that way. (You like, go to RUN and type in REGEDIT) and that will show you all of your hardware/software. Well, once I deleted the email templates program, I saw a few other things that I THOUGHT I had uninstalled, but they were still lingering around. So, I deleted those too. Well, apparently I deleted something detrimental, because once I rebooted my computer, I had NOTHING. I had no icons on my desktop, I could not open ANYTHING. No Internet, no briefcase, no email - I was SO scared I had just deleted pertinant info. So, I called our help desk here at work and the guy said he would send a tech out to fix it. So, around Noon he came & began working - he finally got it fixed around 2:30pm. AND he installed Windows 2000. (I had NT) He also had reimage my computer. He basically had my whole PC taken apart. The good news is, he was able to salvage everything! Whew. Zoey stayed the night with her Dada last night. He calls me at 7:15pm and says, "Uh, is it okay that she's already asleep?!" -With all the sleeping problems she's had recently, he freaked because she was out at 7pm. I told him that if she was tired, it was okay to let her sleep! I told him to go ahead and wake her though, to put her in her PJ's and try to give her some milk. He then called me around 8:45pm, and I could hear her playing in the background. So I'm guessing she didn't stay asleep. :-) Little booger! My sister that goes to school in El Paso is going to Shreveport Sunday because they have a game there that day. Well, my Mom really wants to drive there to go see her. AND she wants to take Zoey! "Carol hasn't seen Zoey in a long time! Can we take her?!" Whoa. Leaving the state with my child!? Eesh! But, they're only going to be gone Sat. night - Sunday afternoon. And I really trust my step-dad & my Mom with her, so, I told her it'd be okay. Well, being as Jeremy IS still her Father, I had to pass it by him too. He was a bit apprehensive, as was I - but we both agreed it'd be okay. yeah.
